Number of schools in deprived or segregated neighbourhoods or settlements supported dismantled
Definition and Methodology
This indicator measures the total number of schools located in deprived or segregated neighbourhoods or settlements that have been formally closed or restructured with Grants support, as part of efforts to reduce educational segregation and improve access to inclusive, quality education.
Deprived or segregated neighbourhoods or settlements are geographically concentrated areas—often at the margins of towns, cities, or in rural regions—where residents, frequently Roma or other marginalised groups, face limited access to public services, poor infrastructure, and social and economic exclusion. These areas may be identified using tools such as the Atlas of Roma Communities in Slovakia or similar national mapping systems.
Only closures supported directly through programme interventions (e.g., funding, policy support, or restructuring plans) are counted.
