Number of researchers supported to conduct research
Definition and Methodology
Total count of individual researchers (PhD student, post‐doctoral researcher or other person who carries out academic or scientific research) who receive direct or indirect support to conduct research activities with Grants support. The support could be:
Financial support: Grants, scholarships, fellowships, or stipends that cover salary, research costs, or fieldwork expenses.
Technical support: Access to specialized equipment, software, databases, or lab facilities.
Training: Workshops, courses, or mentorship programmes aimed at enhancing research skills.
Administrative support: Assistance with research design, proposal development, ethics approvals, or publication processes.
The support should last for a minimum period of 1-month full time equivalent.
The unit of measurement is cumulative number. Avoid double counting of the same individual supported several times over the period of the Financial Mechanisms.
If your programme targets women, consider making this indicator gender-specific. If not, this indicator should be disaggregated by self-reported gender (in non-binary terms): female / male / other / prefer not to say. As possible, this data should also be disaggregated by Beneficary and Donor State.
