National elections refer to national parliamentary or presidential elections, as well as specific national-level referendums in the Beneficiary States. Support to an election should be understood to include activities aimed at improving the quality of the electoral process and its compliance with applicable international/European standards (see this compendium of international standards for elections: https://www.eeas.europa.eu/sites/default/files/compendium-en-n-pdf.pdf). This includes various forms of assistance, such as technical expertise, logistical support, voter education campaigns, capacity-building for electoral bodies, monitoring and observation, or provision of resources like voting materials and technology.
