Number of domestic and gender-based violence (DGBV) prevention mechanisms established or strengthened
Definition and Methodology
This indicator tracks the total number of new or existing formal prevention mechanisms aimed at reducing the risk, incidence, or drivers of domestic and gender-based violence (DGBV) that have been established or enhanced with Grants’ support.
Prevention mechanisms may be institutional, community-based, or informational, and should include structures, services, or systems that proactively address risk factors, promote protective factors, or generate actionable knowledge for DGBV prevention. Examples of prevention mechanisms include (but are not limited to):
a. Establishment or support of national or local DGBV prevention strategies, frameworks, or action plans
b. School- or workplace-based prevention programmes (e.g., on respectful relationships, gender equality)
c. Data and research initiatives to fill knowledge gaps on DGBV drivers, prevalence, or risk patterns
d. Support to helplines or digital platforms focused on early intervention or information provision.
Public awareness-raising campaigns should be reported under indicator ALL-012. Training and capacity-building programmes should be reported under indicators ALL-009.
"Established" refers to the creation of a new mechanism.
"Strengthened" refers to measurable improvements in an existing mechanism's reach, quality, coordination, or sustainability.
