Annual number of domestic and gender-based violence (DGBV) cases formally prosecuted in the supported areas
Definition and Methodology
Total number of domestic and gender-based violence (DGBV) cases that have been formally charged and brought to court by prosecutors in the areas receiving Grants’ support. This indicator reflects the justice system's capacity to take legal action against perpetrators and its willingness to pursue accountability through judicial processes. A case is considered “formally prosecuted” once legal proceedings are officially initiated following an investigation, typically involving the filing of charges in court.
This indicator tracks cases prosecuted within a single calendar year, ensuring consistency and comparability over time. Given that the unit of measurement is 'annual number', this indicator requires a baseline value.
If your programme targets women, consider making this indicator gender-specific. If not, this indicator should be disaggregated by self-reported gender (in non-binary terms): female / male / other / prefer not to say. Please see the Guidance on the use of the core indicators library.
