Number of self-identified independent Roma artists supported
Definition and Methodology
This indicator measures the total number of individual artists who both self-identify as Roma and work independently (i.e., not employed on a permanent basis by state or public cultural institutions) and who have received support through the Grants. Support may include direct funding, participation in funded projects, artist residencies, exhibitions, training, performances, or other forms of professional development.
Independent artists are typically self-employed, freelance, or affiliated with non-institutional groups, working autonomously or on a project basis.
Artists may represent a variety of disciplines, such as:
a. Visual arts (e.g., painters, sculptors, photographers, digital artists)
b. Performing arts (e.g., musicians, dancers, actors, performance artists)
c. Literature and poetry
d. Film and media arts
e. Craft and traditional arts
Only artists who voluntarily self-identify as Roma count towards this indicator, based on confidential self-reporting. Please see the Guidance on the use of the core indicators library.
