Number of new or improved child-friendly, multi-disciplinary procedures (consistent with the Barnahus model) for law enforcement agencies
Definition and Methodology
This indicator measures the total number of new or improved child-friendly procedures aligned with the Barnahus model in cases involving child victims of violence or sexual abuse that have been formally adopted or implemented by supported law enforcement agencies. These procedures aim to reduce trauma, ensure coordinated support, and safeguard the rights of child victims during criminal investigations. Eligible practices include but are not limited to:
a. Conducting interviews in specially designed, child-sensitive environments;
b. Using trained forensic interviewers and child psychologists;
c. Coordinating with child protection, health, and judicial authorities;
d. Minimising the number of interviews per child;
e. Ensuring access to psychosocial and legal support throughout the process.
Only documented protocols or active implementation (e.g., interagency agreements, trained staff, designated interview facilities) are counted.
