CIV-038

Number of supported CSOs that have diversified their funding base

Low Cumulative number Customizable

Definition and Methodology

This indicator reflects increased financial stability, sustainability and resilience.

It measures the total count of supported CSOs that have successfully expanded the variety of their funding sources as a result of Grants' support. Funding refers to financial contributions, grants, donations, or sponsorships directly supporting the activities, programmes or operations of CSOs.

To count towards this indicator, the CSO must meet at least one of the following criteria:

a. Increased total number of distinct donors.

b. Funding secured from new types of donors (e.g., governments, individuals, private sector entities, foundations, international organisations/UN agencies).

c. Alternative income streams such as social enterprises, income-generating activities or membership fees have been developed.

d. A more balanced structure of funding between core/unearmarked funding, and earmarked funding is achieved.

If a CSO has achieved greater funding diversification in several ways, it should still count once towards this indicator.
