Number of supported CSOs with a new or improved organisational policy [on topic]
Definition and Methodology
This indicator measures the number of supported CSOs that have developed or enhanced policies, strategies, or guidelines aimed at, for instance (this is a non-exhaustive list):
a. Gender mainstreaming: Integrating gender equality into their organisational practices. This may include creating new policies or revising existing ones to ensure that gender considerations are embedded in areas such as decision-making, programme design, staffing, and operations. The indicator measures the organisation's commitment to promoting gender equity and ensuring that gender is consistently considered in all aspects of its work.
b. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI): Creating an environment where all individuals feel valued, respected, and supported. Such a policy encompasses a broad range of dimensions, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, religion, and cultural background, in addition to gender.
c. Human rights based approach: It outlines how the organisation integrates human rights principles into its work, ensuring that all programmes, advocacy, and operations promote and protect human rights. It typically includes principles such as participation, accountability, non-discrimination, empowerment, and transparency.
d. Digital-related policies: The organisation’s approach to data protection, cybersecurity, online engagement, digital advocacy, and ethical use of technology. These policies ensure that digital tools and platforms are used safely, inclusively, and in alignment with human rights principles.
Only policies, strategies or guidelines finalised and adopted by the organisation (e.g., by the management or board) should count towards this indicator.
