It includes income from the granting of rights to use patents, trademarks, software, or other innovations resulting from the research, typically through licensing agreements with external entities.

METHODOLOGY

a. Track all revenue generated from licensing deals, including upfront payments, royalties, or milestones.

b. If possible, record details such as the licensing agreements, amount of revenue, and involved parties.
