Number of unaccompanied children (migrants, asylum-seekers and refugees) provided with services
Definition and Methodology
Total count of migrant children (below 18 years), regardless of migration status, who are unaccompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and who have received services intended to ensure their safety, health, rights, and well-being, provided through Grant-funded initiatives. Unaccompanied child migrants, asylum-seekers, and refugees are children under the age of 18 who have been separated from their parents or legal guardians while migrating, seeking asylum due to persecution or conflict, or being granted refugee status under international protection laws.
Services include shelter, medical care, food, legal aid, education, language services, support with family reunification, and psychosocial support (non-exhaustive list). This also includes protection from risks such as trafficking, abuse, or exploitation.
Individuals assisted with return do NOT count towards this indicator as there is a specific indicator for this.
The unit of measurement is cumulative number. Calculation method: avoid double counting of individuals.
If your programme targets girls, consider making this indicator gender-specific. If not, this indicator should be disaggregated by self-reported gender (in non-binary terms): female / male / other / prefer not to say. Please see the Guidance on the use of the core indicators library.
