Number of employees with improved skills
Definition and Methodology
This indicator reflects enhanced competences and capacity within the supported entities / organisations.
This indicator measures the total number of employees from the supported the supported public insitutions, CSOs and companies who have gained new or enhanced skills through training, mentoring, coaching, upskilling, or other capacity-building efforts thanks to Grants' support. It is different from the indicators (ALL-007c/d and CIV-HUM-001b) on the number of participants in training workshops.
METHODOLOGY
This indicator will be tracked through a self-assessment survey among employees of supported entities / organisations, conducted by Project Promoters.
a. Define improved skills – Specify what "improved skills" means (e.g., increased confidence, better application of skills) and list key targeted skills.
b. Survey design – Use a self-reported questionnaire with questions such as:
“On a scale of 1 to 5, how would you rate your skills in [X] before and after receiving support?”
“Have you applied the new skills in your work?” (Yes/No)
“Do you feel more confident in performing tasks related to [X]?” (Likert scale)
c. Conduct an anonymous, online survey (e.g., Google Forms, SurveyMonkey) annually for ease of data collection and honest feedback.
d. Data analysis – Compare self-reported "before" and "after" ratings. Employees receiving support over multiple years should be counted only once, as the unit of measure is cumulative.
e. Aggregation – The Programme Operator / Fund Operator consolidates results from all project promoters.
If your programme targets women, consider making this indicator gender-specific. If not, this indicator should be disaggregated by self-reported gender (in non-binary terms): female / male / other / prefer not to say. Please see the Guidance on the use of the core indicators library.
